Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

If WM wants to take on Amazon it has to have better prices

I agree with the author of this article. It all comes down to the price of the product. All the improvements in infrastructure, structural changes, and better services won’t do Walmart any good if it doesn’t have better, or at least similar prices as Amazon. I know that is easier said than done, but it’s absolutely necessary and I think that making competitive prices should be the priority on the leadership's to-do list.

No, I don’t think they want to be in the store experience long term and that’s why the experience is bad. But they aren’t thinking about how that can affect them online. To customers, Walmart is Walmart.

Do you really think Walmart wants to be in the store business long term? Because in my mind they don’t act like it.

Yes, store experience matters because if a company can’t handle an in-store experience well, there’s no reason to think they can handle an online experience well.

Do you really think the store experience matters? Don’t you think low price is the most important thing?

The in-store experience needs to be better too. I had a subpar experience in a local WM recently and it doesn’t make me want to keep shopping there, either in a store or online.
