If any exec is reading here is a few things I'd do right now:
-
Increase compensation ASAP if you have any appetite for getting top notch talent, as of now, we are not competitive
-
Focal process is outdated (look into what Microsoft did here) - if you want to be a 21st century company, this is a must - Focal belongs to 1990s, the GE and Accenture era...
-
RSUs are pathetic, give more
-
Allow more people to work remotely and from home, forcing people go come to the office does not help anyone
-
Allow more folks to switch domains, roles, etc. Do not be rigid here...
-
Decrease bureaucracy, do we really need an approval for every single step that needs to be taken - tell finance to back off a tiny bit
-
Stop f---ing reorganizing every six months, keep P&Ls stabile for a few years - do you really need to shuffle things this often? It introduces confusion and instability
-
Decision making needs to be accelerated, see my bureaucracy comment above
-
Stop with age discrimination, it's so obvious... Not fair and inhuman.
-
Get some engineers to run the company, MBAs are good for enriching themselves but they will not build a great culture and a great company. Andy knew this...
-
Please remove those fluorescent lights, I feel like I am in a hospital
-
One Intel - crush boundaries between fiefdoms
-
Make managers manage overtime, many but not all folks are overworked - make managers care about this. Punish them if their teams have a lot of overtime, they should be able to manage this
-
Stop cutting perks
-
90% of middle management are micro managers, teach them to not be this way
-
Have folks focus on team achievement (right now, the individual achievement mantra rules)
-
I have to go with this one again: Accelerate Decision Making Process!!!
-
Stop layoffs, immediately (both silent layoffs in small groups and announced mass layoffs)
I am sure I can come up with more stuff, but let's go with this on this windy Friday night...
