Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Question of the day - would renaming positions in Cisco change the way people work?

Interestingly - people with no (or limited) field/customer background have to decide on the future of an entire organization.

Putting a new name on something old just doesn't make it work better, it just sugarcoats it.

People are demotivated and without transparency on what's going on.

Big words, big promises, restructuring a bloated (maybe) organization - all this supported with controversial statements that our business grows.

Sure it does grow, we take loans to keep it on track.

Good luck to the ones affected!

Sun will never stop shining!

"Putting a new name on something old". I have seen this at Cisco and I am a skeptic too.

Maybe Cisco lower-level mgrs think they can pull a fast one s soon as you change the name of your project or group.

They think obviously that "Upcycling" works. See for example,
