Cisco Mgmt always bs the importance of recognition and promotion. As a Cisco sales person or engineer, you may try your best to get the sales target and recognition of Chairman Club and Sales Champion. Someone who got Chairman Club and Sales Champion within the last 3 years and promoted. The end result of all these are the poison potion that he was swept out of his position. Cisco is defying all the management theories. How can Cisco motivate people to work?

If your grade is high you're expected to perform. Q after Q. That's why you get paid so f---ng much compared to much smarter harder working engineers in the company.
I was Sales Champions many times consecutively with the last being Chairman's Club including stocks every year. Worked to the bone for the company yet get LR within two years of Chairman's Club. At a high level, you are just a number on a spreadsheet and if your grade is high, you are a target.
It is exceedingly rare to see someone who has attained Chairman's Club to be impacted in an LR. I say this as one who has been in a sales mgmt role for many years. I'm willing to bet there were other circumstances which led up to his termination.
