Why is this forum one of the most active on The Layoff? Why do so many people like to bag on Citrix? VMware, a direct competitor, has a board that is dead. Not one post in months. There is something about Citrix that brings this on. What is it?

There was a time when I would have compared working for Citrix to a happy marriage. A relationship of mutual respect and dedication. Sadly nowadays it feels like prostitution. You keep doing it because the money is good, even though it’s a bit nauseating and humiliating.
Employee Survey results showed that the company is almost dead. The worst survey results I have seen in my life. Private Equity folks have killed the company.
I was in HR. We would get a few hundred complaints every month from employees.
I sent you a FU note to Henshall when I was fired. He did not reply.
Citrix has no culture. Ask anyone who works in the Santa Clara office?
I am part of the let-go-batch-2017 and I come here to take out my frustration. I send anonymous emails to the execs to give them sleepless nights.
Citrix laid off smart people for no reason. It took me 3 months to get a new job.
Because of this:
Citrix leadership DOES NOT CARE about its customers or partners. They serve no other interests than their own, and those of shareholders that control the board.
Why is the Citrix forum so active?
It's because of the large amount of ill will that Citrix's leadership has created among so many current and ex-employees--some laid off, those who left in anticipation of being laid off, and those who have an interest in the company but want a place to vent about the terrible state of the company and its leadership.
After I left Citrix I went to work for a company that is a Citrix partner and customer. This board enables me to anonymously share the reality of the terrible decisions that have been made (and continue to be made) by Citrix leadership and the impact on customers. Citrix leadership DOES NOT CARE about its customers or partners. They serve no other interests than their own, and those of shareholders that control the board.
You mentioned Vmware. Well, Vmware has a customer focus and Citrix does not. Compare how many times does the word "customer" appears on the Vmware exec bio page https://www.vmware.com/company/leadership.html
to Citrix https://www.citrix.com/about/executives/
Vmware has a "Chief Customer Officer" and its the first word in the CEO's quote. Citrix has a "Chief Revenue Officer" and no mention of the word customer. In other words, to Citrix it's all about them, which is shameful.
I post here because I want Citrix to be better and to be what it's capable of being.
Probably because Citrix treats it’s employees poorly. There is only career advancement for those who play the insider game and s--- up to management. Many members of Management have lied about their degrees because we the background check service we use can never verify education. I know many who lack even a bachelors but in high positions because no one checked.
Also, never seen a company do mass layoffs and escort people out. Typically companies give you a few days notice and let you collect your belongings. Citrix escorts you out and ships your personal effects via FedEx.
I think some of it is from the animosity of employees that were laid off last year. Some believed in Citrix and didnt like the current ELT or their plans (even after struggling through the Kirill T year or so). If they let you go, then the company crashes you can scream "SEE!!! I SAID THEY WERE WRONG!!!"
Citrix, while a long standing software company, was kind of the under-dog to the much larger VMware (bigger mkt cap, 2-3x the employees overall). Its fun to have a good product and be perceived in some places as the underdog, then to get dropped from that team...
Anyway, Citrix is the company some people love to hate. I dont hate it, I am also not going to get upside down bent about things I disagree with here.
Besides, I read all the "rumors" I see here and get a chuckle. "Layoffs next week! HR is reserving rooms and boxes!!" then the week goes by... "AHHH!!! Citrix S---S! Layoffs coming, and middle managers are staying, everyone productive gone on June 4th!" Then on the 5th.."No, just delayed!!!! Citrix S---s!"
Come on. relax. the whole Boy that cried wolf thing is happening. if you have real intel, share. if not, focus on your new job or finding the next awesome job. Stop sitting on the Citrix rumor board like a dork.
