Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

In our store, the problem is not with the Assistant Store Managers or the Service Managers, it is with the Store Manager.

In our store, the problem is not with the Assistant Store Managers or the Service Managers, it is with the Store Manager. Employee Opinion Survey is structured to protect store manager. Truthful answers merely skewer lower managers and leave the Store Manager unscathed. The place is a total crock.

And don't think for one moment that superior performance will be rewarded. It won't. Nearly doubled performance quota last year. Consistent leader on the Regional Top 25 list, lots of positive comments from customers, Reward? Most of the time I am too busy to get off the floor for a sip of water.

As a customer, I will continue to provide you with the best customer service I possibly can, but know that that there is nothing in it for me, other than the reward of being able to look at myself in the mirror.

Here the store manager just propagates the incompetence of the assistant store managers and now the service managers. Service managers work a lot of overtime when not needed. They milk it to make more money. They all just sit and hide. Employees have been attacked by customers and no one shows up when management is called. Very much discrimination in the store. You get away with murder and being lazy if you are one of the managers "buddies" or a woman they think is attractive. They throw the heavy work on the older employees because they are trying to force them to quit. They treat others different by the way they assign hours. The ones they don't like and are trying to run out of the store (even if they are the best workers in the store) then they give them a lot of closes. The other incompetents that the managers love are given prime hours such as 8 to 5 with little or no closes. It is blatant discrimination everywhere you look but it does not pay to stand up for what is right because they get revenge on anyone who speaks up. It is also stupid to have Sales Specialists do heavy grunt work such as loading appliances when the sales specialist can be focused on selling while a lower level worker can be loading. Such bad management and the bad management practices are propagated by hiring people to be Service Managers who had absolutely no management experience and many were recent part time hires they jumped up to Service Managers because they are young or favorites. Seriously this company is a prime example for a college course on how not to manage.

Sounds like the problem at VENICE Fl with Brian Smith and Sherolyn - they think its “their store” not even a part of the corporation. Wouldn’t even be surprised if they’re sleeping with each other 😂. Sherolyn is a drunk and Brian rarely steps foot out of his office, yet they think they know how to run a store. They’ve been lucky that VENICE has expanded as much as it has otherwise this store wouldn’t be doing the same sales that it does. Hopefully both of their times come soon as they keep associates who don’t show up for work and get rid of the great ones that actually do their jobs.

The structural problem is from the store manager down to the assistant managers down to the service managers. Most of them don't give a flying c-ap about what goes on they sit in the back and their office is where in fact it is so much cooler in there. Air conditioners are running at 60% capacity customers are complaining it's so damn hot in the stores. There's no sales help on the floor. Customers are complaining about there's no help on the floor one associate / Department most of the time. When is the CEO going to get it start replacing store managers get rid of the assistant managers that sit on their a-- doing nothing. Turnovers are getting outrageous. Don't want to work around anybody schedule help them out anyway possible to keep good help on the floor I'd rather let him quit and start all over again with less experience less knowledge. It's an embarrassment to us all. Can't run a store with upper management don't give a damn. I'd say put them out on the floor let them work a month our schedule see how they like it and paying assistant manager 50 60 $70,000 a year for what sit on their asses and Bs watching video games watching football baseball golf give me a break people.

Always do the best job you can.

Do not calculate.

If they do not appreciate it, move on.

Why are you providing customers with "the best customer service I possibly can" when there is nothing in it for you? That's stupid.
