Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Burnin’ down the House

Mattel stock is in the toilet at $14.82. For the exec who have joined or have hung on, the stock needs to climb to $30 for you to make any money. If you’re waiting for a buyout, remember your options and grants refer only to a material change in ownership to trigger your stock.

If Ynut, sells Mattel off in pieces, as he’s getting ready to do, the stock will fall instead of climb and you’ll be in the unemployment office wondering why you came or hung on for so long. Defeat is inevitable - so grab what shred of decency and integrity you have left and find a new gig. The cards are as stacked against you as any other Mattel employee.

There will only be two groups of winners at the end of Mattel:

  • the Board is Directors (whose option agreements are vastly different from all others)

  • those that have sworn revenge on the most evil and criminal toy company in the world

Have a nice day :-)

This place is obviously for the p-ss-d and disaffected. Collectively angry about the continuous ineptitude of leadership that has driven a once great company to ruin. You want flowers up your a$$ go elsewhere.

To the last poster, there is no firm financial evidence of any turn around in the business happening. Share holders and employees find more information from this site than from any other source. In recent years, employees were told the right executives were in place with the right strategy ........ none of that was true. Company losing hundreds of millions each quarter with no information to the contrary. What is the amount lost in most recent quarter? How much additional taxation will the company have to pay this year as it did last? There is no evidence to disprove the train wreck occurring. As recent financial articles state, “most of Mattel’s problems are self inflicted “.

The real question last poster is why are you here? Isn't this set up for those that were let go? Why are you on here and not working on the soon-to-be failed turnaround? This site isn't for you fool. YOU go somewhere else if you don't like the negativity.

I don't understand the hate and venom on this site. It was funny the first times, way back. But now it is tired. I'm actually pretty excited with the turn around. Is the negativity just venting from those who were let go? If so, please move on, let us at Mattel have our moment in the sun.

I think that hope would involve selling the entire organization at once. Might buy certain people a little more time.
