Ethics and Code of Conduct

While the whole of GF is busy taking ethics and code of conduct training, to hell with says CTO.

7nm program is on indefinite hold, EUV tools were bought or sc-aped or are on sale. Rumor mill said that the CTO, who is a self-proclaimed American technologist, and business executive, the first one to attend college from his family is related to ASML's EUV leader (probably managing GF EUV account). Hmm, wondering how the whole ethics department is going to handle this. Anyways as per GF's code of conduct and ethics business process this will be swiped under the rug.

Remember the 7nm program was deemed as a success and probably the justification used to keep all the higher level executives. They halted it because of the business and it looks like they prefer executive level skills more than the technical individual contributors who can actually run the process or lots. So much for people who were promoted to SMTS, PMTS, DMTS or fellow.

CTO was designated DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) for 7nm program. IT FAILED - yet he survives and many who followed his lead became the "responsible" ones.

The CTO should take responsibility for the failed 7nm program and step down in honour.

Remember it is a private company only answerable to its investors and couple of key customers. So lot of stuff can and has gone on, especially, on the facilities side of the house that is/ was borderline violation of ethics.

But then who will police the police?
