I dont think this FK go nowhere. He has built a whole empire for himself at slb. Investor dont give a sht who will become ceo as long as Fk still has some trick to pay divident. Of course more buy and sale and layoff will continous. Good luck to you slb lover. I here just remind you that jump ship while you can.

Ask yourself if hiring new employees with no experience from countries with cheap labor would solve your problem.

Laying off workforce is the way to save this company? So what happend after laying off 70,000 employees? Did the company get better? No. Actually got worse. Then how many more employees should be laid off to save SLB?

It was a series of wrong business decisions that crashed this company. Do you know how many M&As the MGMT and BOD pushed during this downturn? Where did they get money? The hugh business loan for all these "successful" (based on their own illusions) M&As increased the debt significantly. Are these M&As really creating enough profit to pay off the debt? What about all the 0-value-adding initiatives such as transformation, e2e, digital rig etc? How much money did the MGMT and BOD waste on these? What's ROI on these?

So, laying off more and more employees will save this company?

Last year I thought he would not finish the year. It is not typical of SLB to replace its CEO like this. We are very traditional and military organized. If Paal was able to survive and manage the downturn how come will he be replaced now? He has eliminated credible potential replacement. The ones now next to him either do not want the job or lack qualification. OLP might stand but he would face some push back. I wonder if Catherine would come back.

So what ? How about all useless highly paid employees ?

Major positive change happens when investors pull out from slb, this would be the only wake up call.

It's not just PK. What about other executives who have been just s---ing money from the company? What grandiose achievements did they make other than BS? Our CTO and the head of transformation are good examples.

He was too reliant on external business advisors and 'trendy' buzz words rather than employing managers who should have known the answers and guided the company. Until there is a serious cull of supervisors and managers, Schlumberger is totally screwed. It would also help to get in engineers that understand innovation and process rather than a bunch of a-- kissing acolytes whose only aim is to pass their Advance.

It would also help to employ planners who are capable of understanding the difference between calculated economic forecasts and sci-fi movies. Judging by the, consistently sinking share price, Schlumberger is all at sea.
