Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Daas from Citrix

" that we are developing a new cloud-based desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) offering with Microsoft "

Wow - no dates. No big name with the announcement. Standard citrix vaporware.

so many promises made in that blog. Sh--rix will not even deliver 1% of it and make enemies of all the current CSP partners

Citrix is lucky to have a friend in brad bodybuilder at Microsoft. Otherwise, they will not even get the marketing attention they are getter by right now

CloudJumper has been working with Microsoft on WVD (formerly RDmi) since it's inception. Cloud Workspace for Azure works in Azure, today and will fully support WVD as soon as it's deployed. It's also a native SaaS app running in Azure and not an on-prem server shoe-horned into the cloud. It's simpler to manage and more cost effective. We also have a tool to convert Citrix deployments to CWMS. Check us out.

Why is the blog not from a VP? Shouldn't a senior exec like JR or Sridhar write this?

Citrix is great at announcing stuff with Microsoft. What happened to the "essentials" product line? The fact that it is all "futures" makes it clear that its' not real

The irony is that Citrix has been making fun of startups doing DaaS for 2 years now!

Completely ignored Frame as "browser-only". Made fun of Nutanix when it bought Frame. Took Workspot to the court when it won a Microsoft award, claiming it's old employees taking trade secrets. Telling customers that AWS workspaces is not enterprise ready.

Don't read a lot into the announcement. Citrix can barely make it's existing product work in the cloud!!!
