Puerto Rico turns to solar power — why GE should be worried

GE execs should pay attention. It is not theoretical disruption of power gen model. People are saving money by going solar and in this case, increasing reliability.

In few years, not decades, this will be how the growing part of the world powers homes. (Asia, Africa, sunny poor places)

GE still not abandoning building fossil fuel equipment, due to services play. That will become the margin hog, as vultures move in to extract value better that OEMs.

Still people are using dialup internet access (aol.com users?), high margins, but shrinking market.

The services market is dying. Which would you rather do, if you're trying to minimize operating costs, spin a windmill or a gas turbine?
