Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Not happy? There’s the front door.....

“Not happy? There’s the front door.....” What is up with this statement? I’ve heard this now from a manager, our clueless director who is not “Sharp”, but dull and useless, and an awkward ginger manager trainer thing who’s training was pointless like his existence as he even stated, “Not happy? There’s the front door or use the back door”. (Total Creeper!) Barf. Why say this? What’s the point? I think they are hearing this from the higher ups, why else would this be a common theme 3 different upper level employees? What gives you the right? Who talk to your employees like this? Totally Disgusting. The ship, it’s sunk. Get out now while there’s still air.

I've been an Enrollment Manager since 2007. Havent put in 40 hours/week since late 2010. Did Felton leave in 2013? I was atleast close to 40 then. Since then... nah.

Most likely a directive coming from above. I've notice how themes propagate: some mid-level person states an unusual marching order. Then, couple of weeks later his/her boss states and justifies the same marching order in a meeting.

This business rests on the premise of poor people wanting to have an academic degree to improve their lives, and receiving government grants regardless of ability or potential future success. Either you help that process, or you should look for greener pastures.

They can hire people to do your jobs for less money, so if they say "jump", there's an expectation that you should be asking "how high?" They want to remind you that you are replaceable. And really, how much more can you take for a paycheck?? There are better, sustainable opportunities out there!

Spot on! I am hearing the same thing. It appears that the current upper management does not have the proper skills in communicating to staff . It also appears that do not have morals either . They certainly do not know how to manage their departments or even understand what their departments are supposed to be doing . The vast majority of them have already checked out and are not even putting in a minimum of 40 hours a week .
