Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

I'm so done

Made the decision to leave this joke of a company and I'm feeling great about it. Like a huge weight has been lifted off my chest.

I might be going to a lower pay, but frankly I don't care anymore. My mental health is more important than 5% of what I'm getting right now.

It will be so good to work at a place that actually has job security once again.

Good luck to everybody staying. I think you'll need it.

I was let go a year ago.

Best thing that ever happened but certainly did not feel so at the time.

It’s a battered wife syndrome situation where you can’t imagine anything better.

It is a big world out there and the sooner you leave and detox it gets so much better.

I did not realize the toll taken on my career, health, happiness and even my finances by doing all I could to help turn it around.

I miss many people but am a new person and wish all who are left and those sadly escorted out the door a new world of opportunities and healthy careers.

Good for you ! I hope all works out for you. I am not far behind just tying up loose ends and then happily moving on to anything else. The stress of working at Xerox is 10x what it used to be although now that my decision is made, poof no more stress.

Everyday I come in wondering if today is the day I get let go. I have been looking like crazy for a new job and am expecting to take a pay cut.

I don't do more than I have to. I make sure I don't miss any deadlines, but I don't do anymore than I need to. I like my boss and the people I work with. Everyone is so demotivated. It is amazing I can be in a meeting with people I have never met, and the conversation turns to how unhappy they are and how they are looking for work. Many even say they are expecting to take a pay cut.

This may management happy that they get rid of people so easily and cheaply, but there is a lot of knowledge and efficiency walking out the door.

I just do not know how they are creating value. They may be able to make the P&Ls look nice for a little while, but there will come a time when it will collapse.

Xerox is a almost dead. I am sure the name will live on, but not as the same company. I just hope it dies before Carl Ichan can make any money.

Although the decision was made for me ( holding out for severance that was then taken), I understand completely. It's the equivalent of scrubbing the floor while the house is burning down. The company I once loved has become a joke. Although I'll have to take on at least 2 jobs, it'll be awesome to be in a place where I'm appreciated and valued. Xerox leadership is nothing more than an embarrassment.
