Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

No one has posted this in a while

Today I have an interview with another company before I come to work. I am excited and nervous. Part of me feels like I am betraying my current supervisor. Did anybody feel like that? How did you all feel like that when you left? It is with another company. How did you all feel when you left? I am the only one who does what I do? If I left my department would be messed up for good. I love my supervisor, but my upper manager said something the other day that made me so mad that made me do it. I went home, applied, and received a call a day later. The other employee has better benefits and better reviews. It was out of the blue, and if offered better money I am thinking about taking it. What would you all do? I am a hard worker, and perhaps one of the hardest workers, and when she said that they would begin to closely monitor more my work ethic and responsibilities that pushed me over the edge. You don’t say that to someone you have given work to. She has never thanked me for ever doing a good job. I just want to know what other people would do?

I was just hired by another company. I felt no guilt at all. I can breathe now and not listen to constant lies. I wanted a company that wasn't on this site all the time

Best of Luck

I went through the same thing. Loved my supervisor, but when I mentioned it said he was Sad to see me go but 100% understood why. Couldn’t be happier in my new position. Much greater pay, great benefits, and less responsibility. Good luck!

Go for it. I quit in August and I couldn’t be happier. New job slightly better pay, and my employer cares and has good health insurance.

You deserve better than Windstream

Windstream was a good company back in the day. Today is a different world for wireline companies in general. There is no easy answer for the migration to mobile and no indication that the direction will change anytime soon.

However, this economy is firing on all cylinders for a lot of industries. If you can move to one of the growing companies, no one would blame you.

I left this year, after 20+ years, and I changed industries altogether. Best move I could have made. Go be you and go be happy.

Good luck, hope you get with a better company. WS is swirling around the drain.

Good for you. I kind of went through the same thing. Interviewing while still working, but the other job I interviewed for was a better place to work. I just had to tell myself that no matter how good of a job that I was doing in present position/employer, that I needed to look after myself because when it came down to the nuts and bolts of laying people off, they don't look at employees, they just get rid of people. So you need to think of yourself. Good luck and make sure you look into the rules of leaving on how much notice you need to give to get your vacation days paid for.

Congrats and good luck. If WS thinks your cheating them with work ethic, they’re flipping the script to dismiss their own treatment towards their employees.

That’s highly offensive on their part.

You can do 5 million good jobs or get atta boys every day and nobody cares. 1 little mess up and they start talking c-ap. Typical BS.

That being said, I’m still here. Because there’s nothing that pays as good as WS where I live.

Good luck. Theres nothing wrong with bettering yourself.
