-
When management has known for weeks and they smile every time they see you or try to avoid you (depends on if they like you). They even give you a picnic (not really u had to chip in $5.00) to show how much they care.
-
When they suddenly try to pick your brain for information.
-
When their doors are closed 90% of the time.
-
When you are invited to meetings and pushed to meet deadlines a day before you are laid off.
-
When you are trying to meet deadlines and no one returns your calls because they have been informed to cut off communication because you will not be around tomorrow..
-
When they come over to your desk pretending it's just another work day and ask you to come to their office (look for folder in their hands).
-
When they tell you they are laying you off and they have this look of sadness on their face (don't you dare cry or show any emotion).
-
When they tell you to sit there and read all those damn papers while they watch you.
-
When you start asking questions they lie and tell you they didn't make the decision to cut you ( don't believe that c-ap).
-
When they cry (give me a break)
-
When they just won't give you time to compose yourself (how about 5 minutes,)
-
When they help you with your boxes and insist on walking you out (not that they want to but they are required)
-
When they expect you to give them a hug or say goodbye but all you want to do is tell the manager where they can shove their job.
After you leave you find out the manager was so traumatized they locked themselves in their office or they met or call their minions giving minute by minute details on how you reacted to the news.
So don't give them that satisfaction, just walk out the door with your head held high.
