I'm an ex-CCBU exec; I've been gone now for a number of years.
To those on this thread who've spoken poorly of the folks in BXB, I'm stunned. The engineering, ops, product management, marketing and other teams that are based in BXB are amongst the most committed and talented men and women with whom I've ever worked.
The BXB team drove Cisco to a leadership position in the customer contact world - from a standing start 15 years ago. There's a healthy running debate about who ships more seats, ports, etc. - Cisco or Avaya - but there's no question that Cisco is a very formidable competitor in this space. That means that Cisco's CCBU has beaten the incumbents who literally defined the market.
While the strategy, products and execution weren't always perfect (I and other former leaders should take ownership for mistakes we made along the way) it is wildly inappropriate to overlook the accomplishments this team's made.
I hope and trust that anyone affected by this action will be treated fairly and with the respect they deserve. Having witnessed layoffs (I think they were called "limited restructurings") at Cisco in the financial crisis in 2007 and 2008, I know that the company makes every effort to treat people well, especially long-tenured employees.
Perhaps we should start a LinkedIn group for CCBU current and former employees if one doesn't already exist? It would be great to stay in touch with everyone. If anyone's interested, hit me up on LinkedIn and I'll get it going.
The new CCBU leaders are letting much of the core talent in BU go today.
ML must go. He is the most arrogant and total jerk. He is decorated with badges of failures. He is bully with only lip service skill.

ML and TF are poison for CCBU. Anything they touched so far was a big failure. They also have a bad attitude.

MM is now a Sr VP of most of the collaboration products. He will raise till his retirement.
How about MM ? will he survive ?
BXB is needed to temporarily house the local startups they buy.

Sad to see that the work is getting replaced by Indian Wipro engineers and managers who are considered rotten amongst the rots.
BXB to BGL. only 2 letters will change. Btw, Whitey Bulger was born 20 miles from BXB. He met his fate yesterday.
