SEC and DOJ are widening their investigations on accounting practices at GE

I know that we had years of untransparent accounting and that once SEC got inside our system they were bound to find something that would “ get their attention”. So, these expansions of the investigation don’t come as u big surprise, but I can’t help to wonder that it couldn’t have come at a worse time, with all the trouble that we’ve been in, and with all the problems that the new leadership faces. If SEC and DOJ find something big, that isn't in compliance with the law it would be another big problem on Larry Culp's list, which is very long as it is.

"Aggressive accounting practices". Whats funny is that no matter what the SEC and DOJ fine GE, it still wont come close to the amount that they reported inaccurately all this time. I tried calling stuff out in my division multiple times to multiple people and it was all squashed by "this is how GE does accounting". Yah, its still not ethical and totters over the line into illegal very often. i hope the fat cats and their brown nosers to them go to jail. It needs to happen.

They would need to extend all the way back to Welch to get all the crooks

If the SEC, DOJ did not prosecute anyone after the 2008 financial meltdown, hard for me to believe they will with GE. Would be happy to see Immelt, Bolze, Bornstein and others held accountable but it's still not a crime to be bad business leaders.
