As a Customer I quit them 4 years ago... Poor service, not aggressive for Business.
I think you get paid through the March date and then severance is a lump sum based on your years of service. For non officers, 1.5 weeks for each year, for officers, 2 weeks for each year worked.
Does anyone understand or have dealt with severance pay stuff? I have had two different explanations on how it works. Have never been through anything like this so want to make sure I understand this and do this correctly. First explanation is that is that my severance is not until after last day of employment, which is 3/18/19 according to the form I got. However, i will get a paycheck like i normally do (even if I'm not at work physically) until March and then receive a single payment severance payment after that and payment is equal to 8 weeks of benefit and payment amount.
Second explanation is severance is the 60 days after notice and not receive a payment every pay period but a single payment that covers the 60 days after notice.
Any advise on this is greatly appreciated.
I was laid off in October, 2017 after being with BB&T for 30 years. I was a Compliance AOO. They just laid off more AOOs last week. BB&T is not what they use to be.
BB&T has gotten to the point of being one the absolutely worst places to work. Morale is horrible at most locations and they hire the MDP or LDP folks straight out of college with no experience at anything other than partying and put them in a management position running a department they have no clue about. The ultimate recipe for failure. They don’t value the employees who have experience. This company started a downward spiral when John Allison retired. They place way to much importance on a college degree. Most of the people working in management positions have college degrees that have absolutely nothing to do with the job they hold. A lot of hiring and promotion decisions in the department (merchant services) I worked in were based on friendships or who you know. Horrible place to work. And these MDP and LDP associates get treated like royalty and appear to be immune to layoffs.
It is a huge layoff initiative, may concerns on how the organization can support day to day operations
Collections in lumbert got disrupted. Let leadership go that has been with the 20+years and kept folks who have been there two. Culture? Ok but what kind.
Wren you piece of sh--!
Just got the disrupt or die conversation and got my severance package. C-appy at best, I was In fraud management any others get the Sam treatment I as Told there were others receiving the same speech yesterday curious to know if any others kinda feel singled out.
Many good workers with many years at the bank being fired due to management sole focus on shareholder return. Week of 1/15 is going to be a blood bath. Boston consulting group came in and the 25 year old MBAs are driving management to fire staff apparently without concern for how the business will run without enough staff or experience. BBT culture is now destroyed. Morale is non existent and staff who remain will certainly be on the lookout for positions elsewhere as opportunities arise are other Banks. What goes around comes around.
word is that there is going to be more in 3-4 weeks
I’m so sorry to hear that. We had several in Wilson NC laid off in Corr Lending. What Dept were you in, where there was 25 laid off?
Yes 25 in my department today
Everyone says week of 1/15 will have significant layoffs
Possibly week of 1/15/18 could be significant

Yes but they will be placed elsewhere and have jobs. Where are the true layoffs where the severance packages and 60 days are involved?
