I'm still using ChefTec, IRMA, DVO, Prodigy, SLAW..etc. Our registers are still dumb. Our computers are old. All of our process for running reports take multiple steps. What gives? Will Amazon ever intervene?

This post is over a year old and still holds true. The scan guns, registers, and desktops all run incredibly slow. The slow software has not been improved or replaced either. What gives Amazon?
My scan gun is too slow. That's my biggest issue.
Or cheftec, spinternet, e tech, slaw, grapevine, egrind, dvo, tableau, smores, workday, mjlc, cornerstone. So many good ones.
Kronos has no reason to talk to IRMA... Maybe fill out a m.a.t.t. or Orchard ticket. Maybe Marty can help? If you have an Inkling.
kronos and irma have issues .
they sometimes fail to talk to each other and shows schedules not being exported .
teams are called out due to this issue and held accountable for tech issues .
really?
out leadership is not what it was years ago!
slaw is always clogged on tuesdays and wednesdays so ad change takes longer due to it being very slow.
we have 1 comouter that is next to the printer but anyone can print from other computers and mess up your work.
even changing the settings on the printer doesn’t work the ink runs and smudges constantly if printing more than 2 pages.
by the way your sss will ding you even if the printer isn’t working or he prints the tags im incomplete .
there are price changes not even on the daily price change sheets and you will be dinged during a scan audit.
by the way this is norcal heart of silicon valley where this always happens.
amazon needs to get rid of the regional leadership and global leadership!
You may be "getting the job jone" after the third time you reboot your dvo gun, or reupload an order, but we should have more efficient systems at this stage of the company's growth.
A large portion of our IT team is made up of people who worked in the store on a product team, were promoted to SSI, then worked their way into the regional and global teams. Sure there are some outliers who actually know their stuff, but most are in over their heads and there are huge repercussions from their ineptitude. Our software and hardware is outdated. If you do not recognize this, than you are not aware what other companies are doing.
A huge problem is that the systems do not consistently work well or there are unnecessary steps to achieve an end result.
Ask a receiver about how they need to export four different spread sheets, import them into another spreadsheet every day. All that data is already there. Application programmers could solve that in one day. Create a program that pulls the data and gives them what they need in one step. This is the same for many of our reporting systems. We are wasting labor hours having thousands of employees jump through hoops to get data that is already there.
To say this is "good enough" to do the job is why things never get better. We want the best way to do things. Amazon needs to plant some moles in the stores to witness this sh-- first hand or it will never get fixed.
I agree with the previous post that IRMA and various other systems are just fine. Maybe I don't know what I'm missing. I can get what I need very quickly. It beats a legal pad and a calculator all to hell.
Many a proud peep who is frustrated to work in a grocery store suddenly becomes a self-ordained tech whiz so they can blame "the man". It's been this way forever. It's simple posturing by those who feel that their current status is beneath them and their educated brains are being wasted
There's nothing wrong with I.R.M.A., you A--.H.O.L.E.
That's just it....the creaky old, moldy, rotting software is actually NOT getting the job done. This is what I've been saying -- Amazon just did not realize how big the dumpster fire was when they bought in to this hot mess. They can't fix it...no one can. Not every problem has a feasible solution.
The programs are quirky, but ultimately they do the job. People have been complaining about this stuff for years but it's never as bad as you think your butt hurts.
So far only customer wifi is getting upgraded, most likely something to do with the Whole Foods/Amazon app connectivity for future plans.

Get back to work your id--t!
No need to spend money on new software if still getting your job done! Get back to work S---er
Let me ask you a question? So one year later you still getting the job done with old software. Why Amazon would wanna spend any money on new software if you can still get the job done? Please stop having fantasy that they care about you . They don’t.
