I have a sneaking suspicion AG will live on, but not in Middleton. All the empty seats in NY and CA...I see transition and more cost cutting down the pike. Keep smirking Katy, have a feeling it will not last a whole lot longer.
I'm happy to see AG embracing a more progressive social justic stance in their new recently released brand campaign video, but I wished they had really committed with more overt language. Saying things like "It's 2018, now more than ever" and "let's be honest, shape the country we all want to live in" and "they'll continue to face adversity" accompanying historical videos of protesting suffragettes work fine as progressive dog whistles, but I'm concerned it might be too subtle if the intent is alienate the half of consumers who voted for our current Orange Russian puppet POSotus Trump!
I left AG in September and it was the best decision I ever made. My new co worker laughs and asks me what kind of place I worked before because I am paranoid and worried about small stuff and being punished like a child...I’m finally getting over it and amazed at what it feels like to be treated like an adult professional who doesn’t get punished for having a Dr. appt once in awhile. AGs culture was horrific.
When it was the Historical line, that would be like saying Wrangler and Levis are the same. But yep, not so much anymore.
AG problem is that they are selling a $100 doll and experience, Target and TRU (when they were in business ) were selling simular dolls and accessories for half the price (knock offs). You can't compete on price. Or should I say Mattel can't compete on price. Or call it the Walmart effect. Or the race to the bottom.
When AG was purchased Pleasant Roland presented her company to the Mattel people in such a great way . Many wondered how can they get on the AG brand because the vision, product and mission were awesome. It is definitely appearant the corporate cancer spread to AG and has destroyed it it also. So sorry to hear. AG and FP brands were jewels and now are nothing they once were because of incompetence.
Two decades working in Customer Service and here is what I see...they gave up on us. They got sick of the BS. Three years ago, the holidays brought a spike in more than ten thousand emails to work through. Now, nothing. So many reasons...but lazy comes to my mind. So many great ideas but never a real thought to how to really make them work. Lazy- bring in a company four years ago to build a system to replicate the old...how stupid. Consumer web experience has declined over the last ten years...pathetic. And then you have your entitled. The ones making more money than you, and contributing absolutely NOTHING. They know nothing and they don't give a c-ap because they've never been held accountable.
They'd rather watch everyone else do the work because for them, it's merely social hour and on AG's dime. The majority of ones making the most, at least in my neck of the woods, are simply Incompetent and LAZY. Two more months and I get to say goodbye for good. AG's loss since I am one of the stars. I actually care and I actually earn my paycheck. Such is life, they'll keep trimming the good fat, letting the incompendent mooch, cutting corners where they can, working around issues versus fixing and consumer experience will continue u to decline until the day the doors are closed for good...
NO accountability at AG. Horrible Leadership. Employees are jumping ship left and right. If you're worried about being laid off, I suggest you follow. There are plentiful opportunities in Madison.
AG needs to stop selling dolls and add flavor back to those cheetos packing peanuts and sell them if they want a profit.
What the actual @$*# is going on with these American girls? Who is in charge over there? Is there any accountability for this abysmal performance year after year after year?
