Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Proposition 112

Is anyone else on here hoping Proposition 112 passes so that they get a pink slip? May the odds be ever in your favor.

I've seen how close these rigs are to houses and schools and frankly won't be shocked if the measure is approved. APC single-handedly brought about this measure; two persons killed in their house, tank battery deaths and the insane guy that killed his family - not APC's fault, but it was just too much to handle. I think it will get approved and APC's onshore production (66% is from Colorado) will be impacted and it's revenue and future earnings.

It's sad that the real innovation and IMPACTFUL messaging against this ballot measure came from the small guys, several of which have "forced" ex-APC employees. As much as I love the industry, and am employed by it, Anadarko's blatant incompetency keeps me quiet and not an advocate and I actually voted for it. Sure, it'll get a stay on implementation as it runs through the courts, and probably get declared as a "take" and therefore illegal, but who gets hurt the most? APC.... So, yes, vote yes.

You all including management did this to yourself look at your history the last 2 years and look at who you layed off in 2016 bunch of good people. That cared. Start restructuring without baby boomers of the oilfield and APC might get things under control . I am glad they sent me out the door after 25 years. Nice check and went to work in a better place and brang my knowledge to help them. APC did not think things thru letting all there experience go out the door. And honestly they should be held accountable for discrimination. But my life is really good . Good luck and take your lumps like most do after there cleaning house. I hope it works out.

The lack of moral compass is not unique to Denver. Seems to be a common theme throughout the company. No specific location is immune to it.

Voted yes because Denver management is the most incompetent management I've ever worked with. Not to mention there lack of moral compasses.

Well, you'd have to go somewhere other than Anadarko to find one of those good paying jobs. APC is bottom of the barrel in salaries, along with most other categories a company would rather not bring up the rear in.

You know an oil and gas measure is bad when even the democrats aren't backing it. It seems most of the support is coming from New York and California transplants. If god forbid it does pass, Colorado can kiss billions in tax money and good paying jobs goodby.

I say a little prayer every night that tomorrow I wake up and my badge doesn't work in the elevator. And the mustached man is dispatched to the lobby holding a box filled with my meaningless personal effects. He shows me the door and the next chapter of my life begins as I head to the 16th Street Mall for a morning beer with a larger than life grin on my face.
