Even if you don't have the time make the time to watch the first link make time. Very engaging and ...well lets just say to the heart of what SF is trying to do so desperately currently. A very interesting part near the end about Amazon when it was created and still a new startup being described as a glorified middle man in the retail business. He continues on and describes how businesses such as WalMart arrived late to the game of ecommerce due to the "Kodak Moment" mentality. SF is currently trying to get to the "Kodak Moment" let alone have one.

He does a much better job telling the whole story.

When you watch it you will soon realize that the process he is talking about can never happen at SF due to the low level of capability to wrap their head around such a "preposterous" new way of thinking at all levels in management.

If you aren't intimate with technology you will not have the knowledge to make decisions to properly employ it. SF does not have the gray matter horsepower in place, I have seen managers who are managing a talent they have no idea about except at a visceral level. I have also seen developers that would not be anywhere near a developer level outside SF. So the severing continues and the one's doing the butchering don't know which part of the cow is the rear end.

As NIKE used to say "Just do it" , watch the video that is.

State Farm has effectively labeled itself as "anti-technology" and "anti-innovation". They've painted themselves into a corner and it will take some doing to find a way out. By the way, Lemonade is only one of 1000s of insurtech innovators. SF is under attack from nimble, tech- and customer-focused companies, and it appears this could be, as the expression goes, "death by a thousand cuts". SF monitors itself and its image, so I figure this ad has likely already been pulled from the ad queue with the comments on Twitter, Forbes, and various insurance sites. Bad idea SF :(

Miserable failure of an ad. Trying to poke fun at technology State Farm desperately wishes they had is pathetic. Hypocrites.

Absolutely ridiculous ad given that the number 1 priority across the enterprise right now is automation and call reduction. There is a huge disconnect between enterprise tech and marketing right now, if ET isn't given the chance to tell the story of their products garbage like this happens. Congrats SF, you played yourself.
