Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

This is just the appetizer for what is yet to come

Whose genius idea was this to shut down the San Antonio office? It was obvious that we were not using all of the office space but we were stuck in a contract. With all of the time that DD was looking at the locations of trucks, he couldn’t spend a little time looking for a smaller office in the area? Who ever made this decision has no idea the severity of an impact this will have not only on the area but on the whole company. Everyone has been told that “So goes South Texas, so goes the Company”. Take note everyone this is just the appetizer for what is yet to come. I hope FP is happy that 40% plus of the San Antonio office will be leaving the company due to that call. OKC can now pick up some of the extra duties that were being done here. Do more with less.

DT is a smart, kind, caring, competent leader. He will get you through. He got us all through in PA a bunch of times.

I’ve worked in every business unit and STX employees had the best work ethic by far. Sad to see this happen.

You have no idea the significance the work force in STX had for this company. The EVPs don’t either. The sentiment you see is one of a team that really really cared and worked hard, saved CHKs a--, and then was

Disrespected and made to work for an ops manager hired from Anadarko who had no business in that position. Typical of CHK sop now but lots of animosity about the way I hear ppl who have their all were treated

Best thing they ever did was shut down the San Antonio office. You can tell by the replies to those who commented on this post what kind of attitude prevailed there.

We were not talking about Mid Con compression and don't care about them we are talking about Chesapeake Energy. Go work on a compressor!

Did CHK not own Midcon compression? They had offices in Dilley, Carlsbad, Odessa, and Marshall.

Never had a Chesapeake office in Marshall - it was Tyler, never had a office in Carlsbad - it was Hobbs, never had a office in Dilley - it was Pearsall, never had a office in Odessa - it was in Midland.

Boo hoo hoo.

Every BU is told “so goes (insert BU), so goes the company.

Be glad it didn’t happen sooner.
