when a company pays you higher than every company in the area (do you not know that we just re adjusted and increased salary bands), people are forced to stay. Then when there are layoffs, people are screwed because they will not be able to find jobs making the same amount of money in the local market.
if a company is stable, then this is not an issue, but this company has been going through turmoil since MT was sadly kicked out.
Go ask anyone you know that was canned last year during the layoffs or this year during any number of the targeted cuts.
you could also just apply for a job elsewhere for the sole purpose of seeing what other people are paying. I did. and the salaries offered have been 15% less than what I make here for the same dam job.
I took this post from another thread ( @VFPHAH7-3ntv ). People live acording to their incomes, and when you are in an ustable envirenment but with a bigger salary then the competition, every place you can go after that is a step back. Terrible feeling.
