I've seen February mentioned as next layoffs month several times. While I'm not happy about that, that is still a good several months away. Does that mean we are safe until then and we can stop stressing at least for those few months?
At this point, I'll take even that.
Why would you want to stay at a place that is doing more layoffs? You don't want to be the last person on a sinking ship. Be the person who got a spot on a lifeboat. When they lay off another 400 or 500 people in early 2019, that is 400 to 500 more houses on the market. Those are 400 to 500 more people looking for jobs - jobs that might have been filled by those who left after the first round of layoffs. Never wait around for the axe to fall, unless you're eligible for retirement and are willing to take a package and enjoy retirement.
Don't bother talking to them. They all have "Malta Syndrome" which is a mutation "East Fishkill Syndrome" (variants of Stockholm Syndrome). They all think they will be the "saved" ones. Many people who thought that on Aug 27 realized it wasn't true on Aug 28.
You can lead an engineer to better jobs but you can't make them pursue them.

HAHAHHAHHAHAHA!!! You really believe that?!?!??! You mean like when the ATD VP told us in July to STOP SPREADING RUMOURS about another layoff because it wasn't true. And then he showed us a roadmap for 7LP into 2023 but a week later Tom Cornfield pulls the rug out? So you believe a "higher up" about a layoff? I'm sure we all believed the VP about 7LP (and apparently he didn't know about the layoffs, either), so don't rely on "higher up"s to be in the loop. Anyway, the Exodus continues so maybe they won't need a layoff, just everyone to do double work and then double that as more products/customers come in. It's like GF is a low tier football team that only cares about breaking even at the gate. They get the team down to 90 people but need to get to 53 by opening day. Rather than cut the rest, they just let the players decide and anyone of them is free to go--does not make for a winning team, does it?

Yes we are safe till February. I even heard from higher up that February layoff is just a rumor...
