Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

More layoffs at Sungard before next month?

Overheard something at the office, I was hoping people here might know more about it. Any info is appreciated.

Operations is where the most expensive people are. And engineers are also easiest to offshore or outsource when cost is more important than quality or taking care of your fellow Americans. So the changes after the 10th will come first in operations now that Haney has been pushed out and the boob running POD has been elevated to veepee.

The 10th is Saturday. Are you talking Nov or Dec 10th? Also do you mean VPs across the board or only certain groups? There have been rolling RIFs at AS for the past 2 years.

It's happening. VPs have to make recommendations to Andy D by the 10th.

Stern was quoted 3 months ago saying the cuts are over.

I'm sure there will be some RIF actions taken in November. Exactly who, which group, and how many is anyone's guess.
