Mass layoffs have started on Wireline side of the house. Going to be a lot of folks out of work. Organization can't make up their minds about how to structure their business.

To the person who was questioning whether one is expected to work out their two week notice, yes, you are, unless you get rehired right away in another segment of the company. Some of us were told we were laid off in March, yet our last day was at the end of June!
At Sprint, when you hear the words ,”stay focused”, believe me, heads are about to roll.
I'm curious, as I was impacted but I'm not a long term Sprint employee. Do they really expect people who were impacted to work out their two weeks notice? I'm in sales, and usually you get walked to the door on notification so you don't have an opportunity to sow discontent with other sales reps or more importantly, customers. Any experience Sprint folks able to comment? Thanks in advance.
9/14 was awful. I’m a wireline client director who was laid off, one of 3 in just my sales team. I had heard rumors it was coming but there wasn’t any official warning. The only message from management before Friday was to “stay focused.” I wish they had been focused and done their work more effectively. Maybe we wouldn’t have missed the unrealistic wireline sales forecasts that had been set. My immediate manager had no input into who was eliminated. Who made these decisions? Another consultant? Pitiful.
over 60% of my group alone got laid off in one day. Solid Leadership...
Don't worry; they had "technical difficulties" at the end of the call, so questions "couldn't be addressed"....
Really sad to hear all this. I left Wireline @ Sprint last year
I hope everyone has a good landing spot elsewhere.
True, a friend of mine called to let me know he was laid off this morning as soon as he arrived at work. He did get two weeks notice and is looking for another position. After two weeks though he is gone. Whatever happened to don't worry about layoffs I just heard at those ridiculous look at me I am the new CEO events we were mandated to attend?
Yeah, this one came as a surprise to a lot of us on the wireline side as well. No warning, nothing! And the senior leadership expects the employees to vote favorably for a culture that is being destroyed each year. SMH!
Thankfully we just had the Wireline New Org call that lasted a whole 9 minutes with vague information about the newly devised plan. Really great stuff.
One of my friends got laid off, rehired in another team, and laid off again all in the same year. The guy moved across the county just to get fired again!
I'm in wireline, and was just notified this am (9/14/18). No rumors beforehand. I have not heard that anyone else got hit. But, on FRIDAY am I got the notice!! FRIDAY, really Sprint?!!!!
The days of knowing when the layoffs are coming at Sprint are apparently over. Lots of people surprised by the layoffs today. As much as 35% cut in organizations across the board.
