It's funny. I worked at the HO from 2007- 2017 - 10 years. Toward the tail end of that my Director had a meeting about how WM wanted to open new stores. A diagram with the customer base shown by a circle around the stores by, I believe, 10 miles. I brought up this 10 mile radius around each store was cannibalizing sales form other stores. I mentioned that won't the store managers by hit on their bonus when sales drop with a store opening so close to them? Didn't seem to care. I guess as long as the sales were there the company would save money with smaller bonuses. The SMs on the other hand.....
At least they told you. Usually they just leave a note on the door. They will close a lot more especially the ones down the street from each other.
