Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

First off, Ruthie was so great she went to jail and got fired for stock manipulation. Mattel went wrong when it focused only on Barbie (no one wants fashion dolls anymore), and HotWheels (making a fat .07 per car, then taking credit for “character cars” which Hasbro actually invented when they had the Disney license for die-cast in 2006). When you put all your eggs in one basket you inevitably get burnt.

Mattel can’t lay-off or sell it’s brands off fast enough to avoid bankruptcy. All the moves they’re making now are 10 years too late.

We spent all of our cash on buying companies that is not profitable and hiring consultants that tell us what we already know by consolidating our knowledge into new PowerPoint formats and new font types

should be retitled as “FIRING ON ALL CAMPUSES.”

The beginning of the end was Stockdown with his triple threat “biggest, fastest growing and most profitable strategy.” Hmmm...what has to give? Made only worse by the revolving door of spineless execs who never challenged and only looked to save their own jobs. So sad.

Wait, I thought Barbie and Hot Wheels were strong and FIsher Price is getting fixed under "new" (aa old) leadership? And, now, we can make movies to revive MH and He-Man? Isn't everything fixed now?
