Did anyone reading rumors here ever consider the possibility that competitors may be posting here to sabotage the morale of current employees? Take what you read here with a grain of salt

Highly unlikely, from the outside Cisco seems like a great company. The people deal, the established name, the technology etc etc
From inside it's another story. An ethically corrupt core feeding off acquired business units who are being driven into the ground in the name of margin.
Worse, it could be truth from employees!
@OP just see the number of visits on this site. It is increasing day by day due to Cisco's failure to handle the future. The information on this site is very accurate, just check about the August layoffs.
Wow you guys are harsh. Just speculating. -OP
It's all either accurate or extremely believable.
Even if our competitors are posting here the news on this site is very accurate
OP, this is funny. This is the kind of silliness that junior employees buy. They believe this c-ap too.
Well. Duh.
I work for Juniper. How did you figure this out?! Cisco must have really great people!
I doubt any competitor would feel the need; Cisco does a fairly good job of lowering employee morale itself. To be fair, before the 2000 crash management was extremely generous with options and promotions. Afterwards though they (including JC) were almost incapable of managing in a downturn. They turned the Morgridge definition of frugality, ' getting the most value for your money ' to ' screw the employees over to save a buck.
It’s a rumor site, so everything should be taken with a grain of salt. But I found it pretty accurate. Even though it’s open for everyone to post, all troll attempts are pretty recognizable. Been checking it site since the summer of 2016, rumors about August layoffs started about a month before they actually happened.
