Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Any truth to this?

During my 1-to-1 with a Sr. Manager, I came to know, that some business of Collaboration where there is a flat, but consistent revenue, is to be outsourced. The employees of these products will be transferred to the outsourced company.

Is this true? Any more info on it if it is?

There is no evolution planned for on-prem Collab products. Only new thing which customer see is VM upgrades and security patches. Which customer will pay additionally for IPSec or SSL which do not get additional revenue, but adds another 10K line of Buggy Bangalore code.

After the mental Diarrhea uttered by RT, its shocking that Collab is still bringing some revenew, you can thank the on-prem collab products for that.

RT drove Collab into the ground with his utter lack of strategy and shoddy execution. All he did at Cisco was to prep himself for a CEO gig by building a wannabe Slack (SPARKtacular FAIL) and useless partnership announcement. Still here and sad to see the downfall of Cisco Collab.

Already in some accounts with similar setup the hiring is not happening and instead the service vendors are asked to take up the jobs. In some time this will eventually happen. In these accounts our employees are anyway doing mundane jobs like test bed upkeep and bug fixes.

It was hinted some time back during an all hands of the CCBU. Some discussion with Wipro and Aricent is going on.

Wouldn't surprise me, with RT out no one at Cisco will care about growing this mess of acquisitions and failed home grown products. With AC at the helm you can be sure that the focus will be on maintaining existing customer base while exploring divesture options. CR only wants to focus on routing and switching going forward, along with software subs related to that.
