ET Transformation is successful

Wow since 7/14 the amount of work that ET has cranked out has been just amazing.. Its like we are sitting in a moden Day factory and widgets are popping off the assembly line.. So much straightforward guidance from MSO and leadership... Zero ambiguity about how we go about getting work done.. Oh and the best part is not one beat had been missed with that very well thought out decision to move work and people here or there with absolutely no understanding nor care that coding and supporting one product may just be a bit different for another product..

Hats off to Tippy and the merry 3 for their diligence in almost completely stopping IT in their tracks!!! Bravo

It’s amazing how many ET jobs for State Farm are being listed on LinkedIn and monster.

When I left about 6 months ago, it seemed that teams were going to end up with basically three roles:

1) Product Owner

2) Scrum Master

3) Java Developer

With MAYBE some cross-functional architecture happening at the department level.

It looked like a complete cluster waiting to happen.

Maybe it will turn out better than I expected when the dust settles, but the big gap that I saw was that there was no one to collect actual requirements anymore.... And Java developers were being expected to perform basically every role on the project. My thought was, good luck finding time to develop anything.

I knew the transformation would fail when I saw that they were turning managers into product owners...

They have managed to spread teams too thin to meet expectations, but also create incredible amounts of redundancies across teams so that nobody knows exactly what they should be doing. It's actually kind of impressive.

Kudos on your sarcasm. So I take it the IT transformation has completely tanked?
