Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

The parts are worth more than the whole!

T buys SGP

S buys MLT

Govt or Bosch buys DRS

Analog company buys 9&10.

if Fab 9 & 10 were worth anything, IBM would not have given it to GF along with USD 1.5 Billion.

It's wasn't even a sale, it was a considered a liability with compensation to own Fab 9&10.

DRS is only worth anything if FDSOI does take off, Otherwise it is another liability. Confidence in GF's ability to execute is rather low at the moment.

Malta is an organizational mess, over infested with top management and over-high grade engineers earning absurd salaries doing what a technician could have done. AMD was their only major customer and is now doing a 7th amendment to the WSA . You would also have to pay another company billions to take this mess.

SGP might still be worth some cents . Maybe you could get rid of it without paying billions.
