approaching end of qualcomm era in 2020
Apple and Samsung each have some of the best modem architects ever to walk the halls of QCT. Both of these companies are well capable of out-engineering Qualcomm in this space.
Sorry to say it, but most of the leads left in QCT are bozos.
By the way, Samsung is building their own modem...also they have a large test environment in whole of South Korea. If I am correct, QCOM became big due to Korea deploying its technology there.
Moral of the story is not to screw your own customers. They will find ways to design you out from their products.
You guys are nuts. So what if apple builds their own modem sep still applies. You think they can do all the non-sep work that they have had access to for years in a matter of 2 years? No way. Stop with Apple is going to build their own modem and kill Qualcomm BS. Wont happen. Qualcomm can survive the loss of Apple and I say good riddance.

I think QCOM thought that Apple would be interested to negotiate by this time so they used a soft approach but they underestimated Apple and must face the consequences now.
Big mistake by Q defense. Jim thompson says they pay 1/2 billion dollars to lawyers. Looks like even a rookie attorney would have been better. Another example of overpaid top folks not executing.
