Didn’t the pre 2011 union vote in new pay scale? Yes! When the T rates interviewed and went through the hiring process the union and HR said the company and the union are working on closing the gap. Never happen! 2015 the local supplement should of been open to bump up t Rates pay. Nope the hall chickened out and lied. Now the appointed union officials presented this pay scale change for what to save GE. This should not be opened in the middle of a contract! This should be addressed in June of 2019 not this week! Oh to save the d rates a$$ again at the expense of the t rate again. I say no because I am being forced on a off shift and the guys replacing me will be making $10 more an hr with a pension. So my vote is a BIG NO!

It never was t rate vs d rate but over time the d rates made it obvious that they thought they were better simply because they were d rates. They became smug! The worst are the ones who barely got in as d rates before the contract. The senior d rates were at least around for the struggle. These chumps talk like they were in the thick of it all along. They weren't in it for 5 minutes! A bunch of entitled freeloaders. If it weren't for their dumb luck with GE, they'd be living in their mother's basement still.
When are you going to realize it’s not t vs d?
The 2007/2008 D-Rate hires on 1st shift in Stator Wind are useless. Two bars in a generator in eight hours? Side ripple springs 1.75" apart? They deserve to be fired.
If you came in as a T rate, knowing your pay was less, wouldn't it make sense to further your education at GE' s expense? Those who did are now much better off because of it. Is GE supposed to continue paying someone moving boxes $30 an hour? I dont think so. If you want more money, make yourself more valuable. Otherwise, put on your vest and a smile and go stand by the door.
Yeah? What did the d rate who was hired just before they started the t rate build? They didn’t build anything more than the t rates!! They are just as pathetic as you think the t rates are. Basically any d rate hired since 2006 is nothing more than a overpaid freeloader!!!
I gladly gave my spot to a d rate, that’s why I left GE for more money and a better healthcare and better 401k enjoy it
D rates built GE you T’s rode our backs and with your skills and intelligence you deserve $15 less an hour.
How does paying T rates more say 273, all it does is accelerate the pace of closure.
If a T rate believes they are worth that of the D rate go to open market and get that wage.
Of course they won't, The D rate is a 'legacy" rate as are old defined benefit pension plans.
Celebrate that good runs the D Rates have had. Paying current employees those rates isn't
sustainable.
All Ge's went to 2 tier, no matter what they called it. You people came in the door all happy to get into GE. You didn't do your due diligence on what you were getting into. You were told that there would be a difference in the pay scales, and at some plants there was t 10 year progression to full rate. GE in all it's failures and faults told you up front, unlike many companies that would keep it hidden. Whether you are at a union shop or not, it's the same. I left a GE once, and went back to another segment in a time frame to retain all benefits and pension. Had I not retained the pension, I would have dropped GE like a piece of hot slag! At some point, you have to decide to grow a set, and recognize what you are worth, and how good are you. After machining for 27 years, I would not go to work for anyone for less than the going rate of other employees. I did when I was starting out, it's called life, and paying your dues. The only upside to this is that next time you go into an employers shop, you'll have GE on the resume, more experience, and eyes wide open. Do your research, and negotiate your pay better. GE isn't the only "take it or leave it" pay scale. Pass them by. See where it got GE? The GE culture was broken in 2001. It's not repairable, the golden goose is dead, nothing left to draw on. Don't bet on Aviation keeping the whole company afloat, that bubble is soon to be burst. If you are heading out the door, look beyond your home town. The labor market will be flooded, and if you people were willing to work for less before, you can bet that the local pay scale just dropped $5 an hour based on supply and demand. I'll get my 20 in, and my pension, but don't think I'll get much more that 20, so at 50 years old, I'm working on plan "B". So what's your plan "B"?
D-Rates Rule!!! ; ) Thank you for your time, now get out of my spot!
It’s a scam I say if GE is going to close 273 then so be it. I will not get walked on any longer at the expense of a d rate with a pension
