Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Is this true?

The pension is over funded to the tune of $4 billion. It’s not going anywhere or being frozen. It’s literally costing SF nothing for the foreseeable future.

This sounds a bit too good to be true, especially right now when the situation here is as bad as it is. Is it true or wishful thinking?

Read the pension financials. That’s where I got the info. Anybody can read them.

the pension is over funded and is not going away. One thing leadership understands is that keeping employees right now is becoming increasingly harder, eliminating the pension would create a mass exodus and they are trying to get employees to stay now.

I used to think the troll posting all these nonsense threads was an angry claims employee. I now think it's the owner of the site. This c-ap has been going on for way too long to be anyone except for someone with a vested interest in driving posts.

Either that, or a crazy m------f----.

Hate to be someone that has more than 8 to 10 years left

Financially the company is on solid footing, for now. But if they continue bleeding policyholders and quality employees that may not be the case in the longer term. Good employees (esp. in larger cities) have choices in this job market, and more and more are saying State Farm is no longer a desirable place to work.

Prior post is a troll. Used to be a great company to work for and used to provide outstanding claim service, but that was many years ago.

Yes the pension is over funded. You can look on sf website and easily find it.
