Tipsord’s recent executive briefing included his assessment of State Farm’s “”different promise” to employees versus the “broken promise” many employees actually feel. State Farm offers no promise at all which is precisely what it’s employees now offer in return. Tipsord is living in a bubble as are his staff down to the VPO level. The new management below that level haven’t the experience to know that the emperor isn’t clothed.

the last post about 90 billion and trimming fat is either a corporate troll, or an id--t and maybe both!
@3oto....Agree. Insurance Antagonist is full of it. I guess the moniker says it all. Nice fictional story he/she weaved though. And if that workplace was half as hostile as written, nobody in their right mind would be standing and cheering.
That narrative sounds like Antagonist’s fantasy of how they left the Farm. It’s probably somebody who’s still sitting in their cubicle everyday, stewing alone. The kind of person who doesn’t make any eye contact with co workers and who is referred to as “that odd person who only has two shirts for work”.
Insurance Antagonist - I call B.S. Quitting or being fired does not “forfeit your pension” so long as you are vested after 5 years. Furthermore, even if you quit/are fired/retire early, you can wait until you’re 62 to claim your pension and get the full amount you’ve accrued.
No , that site is here ——> http://bfy.tw/75D
is this still the site for sore losers and sour grapes?
Hey Antagonist I’m sorry for what happened to you. Assuming all accurate, recommend you contact an employment lawyer and tell your story. That is actionable.
You messed up tippy! Get out!
I had a quadruple bypass as an employee of State Farm. Fortunately I had the short term disability insurance deducted from each check. I contracted the terrible virus Hepatitis C while in the hospital. Treatment required 48 weeks of injections of the chemotherapy d--g Interferon, and due to the blood cells destroyed by the d--g, an additional 2 injections each week, at a cost of $1800 per injection. I was literally as pale as a walking zombie, and felt like one, for an entire year and obviously could not work. Needless to say my medical bills were very high and off work for a year+. As we all know, State Farm does not like to pay claims. What most of you don't know is how sinister they are. No disability checks received for 6 months, which translates to no income. No response from our calls until, "the call" came. A female, who would not give her name, representing SF said they would release my disability checks if I voluntarily terminated. I thought it was a prank by a friend it was so outrageous. She was serious! I replied with a question, "If I quit and forfeit my pension, medical coverage, and employment, you will pay me the disability payments in full you owe?". She replied "that is correct". Took me a minute to regain my composure and I apologized for laughing so hard and simply stated I don't think so. She hatefully replied "that's too bad, you will regret that decision". Now I feel like I need to go get my gun permit for self defense. I didn't waste time and called the Americans with Disabilities Administration (ADA). The lady took my complaint and commented this was not unusual actions by SF. Shortly after that I received my check in the mail.
Upon returning to work I got what I expected. I was setup for failure with my project duties, employee evaluation went from formally all excellent to worst rated employee in history, and received written warnings for violations I never heard of. My involuntary termination had been ordered but the immediate supervisors were not trained in Sinister/Evil tactics (exclusive to claims personnel training). But what they failed to do was check my age when I was eligible to retire, fortunately on my next birthday. On that day I requested my retirement and I could see from my supervisors squinting painful expression of concern that he was going to get blamed for the oversight . I did not get a going away party from SF but all my wonderful friends I worked with applauded as I left on my last day (out of sight of the cameras). Word spreads fast at Corporate South and I was surprised to get phone calls from others that had lost their jobs due to the leverage used with holding disability payments for extended illnesses. Sadly most were senior aged employees who lost their pensions and health insurance due to the famous insurance tactic of "the Financial Squeeze" used on our customers. Delaying payouts to force them to settle for lesser amounts out of desperation (actually part of claims training). We were able to survive the "squeeze" because I was fortunate to had recently won a 10-year Bank Fraud lawsuit for a lot of money. To SF's dismay, we could afford to live without the disability checks when most people cannot. So I didn't
"regret that decision" to not voluntarily terminate. I bet SF hates cutting that pension check and paying my medical costs to this day!
In closing, to my fellow ex or soon to be ex-employees, I would like to leave you with a comforting rumor I heard. SF Security has been frustrated because they are unable to catch the individual seen on camera that is laughing while urinating on the Corporate State Farm sign!! :-)
I wish all State Farmers who made that a great place to work, Gods Speed! (FYI - Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Sundays are already taken for SF sign urination).
The best part of this sinking ship is that the captain and all deck hands are blaming the passengers. Seriously, Tippy is seriously blaming first line management for EVERYTHING. First line management and their direct reports. So much for leadership. So much for a plan. They bet the entire company on this model and have executed so poorly with such devastating results that they are blaming low level employees. Tipsord won’t even show up for Founder’s Day Celebration. He hides in a room and records his ‘message’ for us lucky folks. Wake up, Tipsord - you blew it. You and your team have ruined thousands of lives, lost billions of dollars and millions of customers. There is also no Plan B.
Ha...i know who is happy! THE EXTERNALS!
No. No one is happy. Employees leaving everyday in my office. Everyone I know and work around pretty much is looking to leave. The old ones stuck are just praying for severance and for it to be over. The not knowing if we will have a job or if our building will close is just to stressful. I'd rather know, no matter what is going to happen so i can plan a future. I wish they'd just come out with the master list of all closings and get the show on the road and let it be over. Knowing will be a relief and allow me to plan.
No more swag, select a gift, lunch chits? What is the point of waking up in the morning? Those were the things that made me happy. 1xik you are correct. This is how I remember the company.
They've taken away all the things that made employees feel valued for doing a good job. Wonder if we'll even get Select-a-Gift this year? 90+B in reserves, not even a 50 cent cost of living increase in over 2 years. No once in a while coffee and donuts on Saturday anymore, no silly State Farm swag, all those small things that could cheer you up even for a moment....all gone.
All the positive comments are leadership trolls. I am in one of the largest centers in the country and everyone hates their jobs. People walk out all the time. Tipsford has to go.
Nope NOT HAPPY..Not even close...
I too make ridiculous money for what I do, and I enjoy everyone I work with. Thing is... this ain't just about me, and my current position with SF. So no, I am not happy.
I am happy. make ridiculous money for what I do and enjoy everyone I work with.
When I was hired over 25 years ago there was an implied promise of a career with State Farm so long as I a good job, didn't steal from the company, and didn't fool around with the clerical support. Seriously. This was repeated by three levels of leadership above me. At that time it was unheard of for someone to leave the Farm. We were looked up to by other insurance professionals.
Shame on me for believing. I believed in the company, I believed in our values, and I believed in our Leadership. Yes, I know that the trolls are laughing, but it was a different company back then. Yes, there were promises made. These promises didn't include forcing older workers out before their time, abusing the work force with impossible metrics, random lay-offs, or a moral deficit in Leadership.
Bak you are either a leadership troll or a visitorfrom outer space.
The only employees that are happy are the ones that don’t know any better, they’re happy to be employed. Going from Burger King to a shiny State Farm call center is an improvement but professional/technical and above level employees are not happy.
I don't know a single employee that would describe themselves as "happy".
There is this thing about all bubbles...they all pop.. eventually... one way or another.
Over 90 billion in reserves. Trimming the fat in all departments. Doing a great job. Most employees are very happy
