Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

People who are laid off certainly do not make a great impression at interviews.

OK, you may be waiting for your layoff package and moneywise that looks like the best option for now. But once you are cut, you will be going to other cos to interview and you will have to explain something about your layoff.

People who are laid off certainly do not make a great impression at interviews.

Consider trying to take control of your life, updating your skills and your resume and proactively looking for another job. You will appear to be the smart person who realizes you are working for a failing company and is doing the right thing for your career.

Getting laid off by a failing company is not a great thing to discuss at your next interview.

Got my offer for new job on my last official day at WS. Got to walk into a position paying almost double with my severance in hand.

All an interviewee has to do is show a two year chart of WIN stock. That explains everything. Interviewed two jobs, got one offer and I shut the other one down after the 4th interview. Figure there was an above average chance of getting an offer from that one too, but the whole interviewing process got really annoying!

I did three interviews and was offered three jobs. Everyone I spoke with expressed opinions that windstream is in dire straights.
