Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Nutanix

Here's more about how it works. Nutanix provides the hardware platform for the application if the customer wants to run it on-prem and they provide VDI as a service. They have leapt over Citrix to deliver a hybrid model with no installation required for the VDI parts. Citrix only provides the management parts for VDI and leaves the rest to the customer to install.

"He has zero credentials to be a CEO."

I have stopped thinking of Citrix as a software company. It's nothing more than a financial annuity at this point, delivering returns to shareholders based on innovations from the past. Citrix does not exist to drive new innovations, nor does it exist to serve customers.

Yes, it's pathetic and sad. But if you think of the company in this way, DH is the perfect CEO.

Henshall doesn't know sh--. He has never installed a citrix product in his life. He doesn't know why nutanix is simple and XenServer is full of sh--. He can only reduce margin for partners and cut expenses.

He has made zero contributions to Citrix products. He has never taken any critical decision during his tenure as the CEO. He is playing safe and doing whatever his boss Jesse says to get dog biscuits.

Henshall can't get a CFO job in silicon valley. He has zero credentials to be a CEO.

Citrix is losing market at a rapid pace. Citrix only cares about the enterprise now. It can not compete with AWS, VMware and now Nutanix in the mid-market. SMB is completely owned by Microsoft RDS.

Despite all the promises, it's still a bloody complex product and requires consultants to package all the management components to get anything meaningful on the client.

Nutanix gave up on citrix and decided to compete with vmware with it's own stack and frame. Whats wrong with that?

Nutanix knows that Citrix has no option but to support AHV. Citrix does not have a good hypervisor

Both Vmware and nutanix will make the combined SKU cheaper over time and keep increasing market share

Citrix keeps adding a new UI on the receiver end to declare innovation. The reality is that Citrix is on a serious decline!

Question: Is DH going to visit Nutanix? Or is DP coming to Florida?

Jason Ader

Does that put you against Citrix, a historical partner, a little bit on the Frame side?

Dheeraj Pandey

No, it's -- I'd say yes and no because they definitely have a very loyal customer base, especially in the Global 2000. And Frame is going with a very different mindset of let's deliver to a browser. And there's a lot of very large enterprises which will take a long time to really even think of digitally delivering a Windows experience to a browser itself.

And I think in the midmarket, we'll definitely go and really work with Citrix to figure out what does it mean to simplify our experience and their experience of Citrix cloud. There's a lot of work ahead between them and us. And I'm meeting their CEO soon, a couple of times next month.

And the whole goal is to not think of it as a zero-sum game. I mean, one thing, Jason, that we really thought hard about is, if you have a growth mindset, it's never a zero-sum game actually. And there's a way to really grow this market. I mean 65 million PCs a quarter, a billion PCs around the world. I mean, it's crying out loud for digitization, and nobody has done a good job operating it. So, I think there's a massive opportunity both for Citrix and for Nutanix to go and grow this market.

Rumor: Nutanix to open an office in Fort Lauderdale in 2020. Internal goal is to make VDI business - 1B by 2022. Includes AHV, Xi and Frame.

There are current Citrix managers or even directors who worked to find new jobs at Nutanix for their former subordinates (and friends in the same time) when those people have been laid off in Oct 2017.

The whole twitter love from Citrix is all fake. As an insider, I can tell you that no one at Citrix wants to partner with Nutanix. It's only sales that will co-operate for the sake of not losing to VMware if the customer wants to buy AHV

Citrix employees hate Nutanix to the core right now. Citrix hates VMware like Trump hates Blacks. Now citrix hates Nutanix like Trump hates Mexicans!
