Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

How bad will the results turn out to be?

Anybody wants to venture a guess at how bad our second quarter results are going to be?

I've been talking to a few coworkers, and they actually believe it will bump our stock up. I honestly can't figure out where they get their optimism from. From where I'm standing, it's going to be anything but good.

You sound like you are in management or an id--t (both?). My take is much more accurate than yours

You are so close but more like was going to live 20 years but looks now like maybe 25. Moving in a better direction. Still going to die but you get to live longer than you thought. I see that math is hard for you. That probably explains why your job will be outsourced soon

Ok, so more like if my life expectancy was cut short by twenty years due to poor choices and then I found out it would only be cut short by 19 years. I’d be thrilled and it would still really s-ck

Ah no. More like I was going to die in a year but with some changes I might make it 2 years. Still not good but a better prognosis. Looks I get it you are probably a entry level employee that hasn’t been here long and just likes to complain. I don’t blame you really. But we can hope for the company to fail or we can hope for a turn around. Takes the same amount of effort on your part.

So by less bad it would be like if a person had brain cancer and they decided to cut out diet soda. Less bad so good, I got it.

When I said less bad equaled better I was more referring to trending in the right direction. If we are less bad than before them yes that is good because we are moving in a better direction. Doesn’t mean things are fixed by any means but start in the direction yes

No clear path for growing revenue and minimizing churn. The company continues to make bad decisions- I thought LL was going to turn things around ? I think he realizes they have no hope.

So bad but less bad so good? If we don’t make a profit how can we pay back our debt let alone keep the lights on? Is there no intention of paying back the billions we owe? I’ll say it will be bad and so will the next ten earnings reports, the fundamentals are crap, regulations are changing unfavorably to our bottom line, our interest on debt is up, customers churning, employee morale so bad that TT is having to do town halls to keep people remotely productive, customer service is being sent out of the country and will speed up churn and further our bad reputation, and our anchor products going forward are uninspired and unsupported.

To be honest some parts of the company look bad and some look good. I am taking the wait and see approach to the 2q numbers. We will probably see another round of bad but less bad that last quarter sort of thing. And this isn’t altogether negative truthfully.
