I wasn’t in B’ville and nobody in India or elsewhere backfilled laid-off positions. The work went to those of us who were left. So in my area there was less headcount and fewer people to do the work. I don’t know what that impact was on worldwide headcount. If Walmart is keeping their headcount consistent overall, it wasn’t reflected in the area where I worked.
you do know there are two centers in India, one for back-office type work and one for technology. Together they employee thousands. Work is still being accomplished at wmt. Where and who is doing it has changed. Just because you see people being laid off in bentonville doesn't mean over-all headcount is decreasing.
Source for Walmart getting rid of jobs? Seriously? You know what site you’re posting on, right?
Having worked at a WM corp location during a layoff, I can vouch for the fact that jobs, not just employees, were cut. The positions weren’t filled, with Americans or non-Americans. And that made life s--- hard for those who were left.
WMT isn't getting rid of jobs. The work is on-going. Who is doing the work has changed. Previously, it was American workers doing the jobs. Now, the majority of the work, outside of the stores, is being done by non-Americans. -- zkl what is your source for wmt getting rid of jobs? Please post. id--t
English, do you speak it?
Walmart is getting rid of jobs, period. Can't discriminate when you don't have the positions available in the first place.
