The Union officials at Local 301 thought it was a good time to attend an IUE convention at a Disney resort in Orlando, Florida while the rest of the membership waits to find out wether or not they still have a job. As an involved union member, I strongly disagree with these comments. I do not believe our leadership went to a conference a week ago... this is strictly a fabrication.
The individuals who are so critical of your elected officials at the hall, you keyboard 'tough-guys' and interweb know-it-alls should walk a mile in their shoes... or at least attend a meeting, and progressively get more involved in your union. Then you might actually know what's going on.
Let's face it: We're in this together. We can either turn on one another in a dog-eat-dog frenzy or stick together and survive.
I know it's scary. We can get through this together.

Rob M and Scott F along with other 301 officials are in FL at Disney for a conference. The only 2 that stayed behind are Mark S and Jason C, they didn’t go. They’re the only ones who do anything for Local 301 anyway.
The Union is supposed to work for us.....hence why we pay $15.10/week. The plant manager told us today that he has already met with the Union in regards to the layoff. If the company and union have already been in negotiations why is our own Union witholding all information from the membership?
Everyone should put a complaint in to national so they could be investigate. They sure don't support us. They need to be here and give us the truth about what is going on.
You should request that your Union officials show the membership receipts for anything that is purchased with Union funds. After all it is your dues that they are using to fund their trip

What a f---in joke...these guys make me sick...I'm all for them being involved in national conventions and such, but in no way shape or form should they be there while their local waits for the impending layoff. Rumor has it that they told the vice president of the local that the recently signed agreement with the company was above his position to know about. What a bunch of power hungry D bags. That's what guys at the top do, they with hold information while they work on getting their tan and drinking Mai Tais at the beach. Enjoy the surf and turf on the union dime ya pricks.
