Reboot cloud controllers

Surely with this being a common issue we see in support something needs to be done to improve this? customers are getting tired of calling up to ask for controllers to be rebooted because the cloud isn’t working properly. What the heck are the engineering teams doing to make this crap more reliable?

This unfortunate concept and implementation is the fault of Product Management and Product Engineering. The entire PM and Engineering leadership are to blame for this c-ap we are baiting the customers to buy. This is so we can get subscription revenues for something Citrix broke and now expects customers to be our alpha testing lab.

XenMobile - sh--

Netscaler - good before 2016. Not sh--

Sharefile - good before 2017. Not sh--

Citrix Cloud - Lol

If not for receiver, the company will be toast by now.

There was a lot of fighting when IMA to FMA happened. The IMA folks cried like babies when their time was over!

The problem is that no one has the balls in engineering to do the same with FMA. FMA is a LAN architecture and the super smart geniuses in Florida are making it work for the cloud with high school hacks.

Don’t waste your time. Citrix is a legacy company with a legacy/outdated product architecture!

IMA -> FMA -> what’s next?

Has been decided and that is the end of the company. Every generational tech shift requires new thinking. Citrix has already spent 5 years on cloud efforts and they still insist that FMA will work for the cloud. They are making changes to retrofit FMA in the cloud with nice looking buzzwords.

Only time will tell if that can ever work. One thing is for sure: DH has no f---in idea and can only rely on insiders.

They are looking in to the slow performance. That is so funny. Obviously they didn't test it before releasing it or maybe they just don't care if they release substandard products. They would fix it if they could but given the poor architecture they will not be able to fix it as it is. They will have to start over and completely write it as cloud native using current technology. Good luck with that effort given the lack of senior developer talent at Citrix and the cost cutting mentality of the ELT and the BOD.

@citrix you need to improve the performance of Citrix cloud hosted storefront / gateway service.. now it took me 30 seconds to open storefront page, from pressing "enter" to see the published app icons. Then it took me another 30-40 sec to just to get session launched.. part 1/2

@citrix Secure Browser session took huge 50 sec just to launch.. that is utterly slow.. this is huge diff. comp. to on-premises NetScaler & Storefront deployment where the whole process (btw. that 70 sec didn't include logon), including logon takes between 15 to 20 sec.. part 2/2

Thank you for the feedback. We are looking into this.

Any id--t can look at the cloud-connector to figure out the biggest hack in the citrix's history. The number of services proxying client-server messages to the cloud is the ugliest piece of engineering I have ever seen. Bozo's think they can make it reliable and scalable.

Remember the biggest id--t on twitter who was touting HDX traffic going through the connector as innovation! He is now an SVP.

"Why is the standard response for any Citrix Cloud issue to reboot the cloud controllers"

Because that is how we solved problems in the Winframe days.

Why is the standard response for any Citrix Cloud issue to reboot the cloud controllers. It seems totally lame and the result of using 90s .net code in VMs as a cloud SaaS offering.

Frame is cloud native. It is DaaS. It does not need controllers. Everything is built in and in the cloud. Citrix likes to talk about their hybrid-cloud approach and how customers like to migrate in steps. This is just a way to justify that Citrix is half-baked and still requires the customer to run most of the infrastructure on-prem. Citrix is taking baby steps towards the cloud while the competition is popping up all in the cloud.

Are there any controllers in frame?

90% of the problems are because of a 3rd party provider. It's never because of Citrix

The whole company should get an email everytime something goes red in citrix cloud!

Investigating- 01/08 11:05pm EDT

License Usage Insights Service is currently experiencing an issue that is impacting all end-users who will seeing a red banner within the service page.

At this point we believe the issue is related to our back-end services and we are working to identify means of mitigation.

We will provide an update as soon as possible.

Citrix Cloud is a big joke. Ancient technology running on VMs in the cloud.

This isn’t like you calling tech support for an issue with your PC. This is an admin for a Citrix installation calling because hundreds or thousands of employees can’t properly access their applications. How long will the customers’ execs let this go on?
