Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Central Illinois dropping State Farm policies.

I don't work at State Farm but the way they went about this is leaving a bad taste in their policy holders. I know a lot of people who are dropping their insurance and going to a different insurer. I also wonder what the turn over in employees will be in these competitive markets. They will be a small fish in a big sea of many corporations and younger employees will leave for few more dollars or the next best thing and frankly I don't blame them as now we see how the older employees at State Farm seemed to be pushed out the door quickly. Not sure they will get all those hours they expect out of the employees now with start up salaries in those regions. Should be interesting times

For the 25 + employees, promises were made, explicit promises, now they are null and void. This is how that generation and the generations before them worked. It is not only the younger employees that are getting the broken promises, retirees ie health benefits.

Tipsord’s recent executive briefing included his assessment of State Farm’s “”different promise” to employees versus the “broken promise” many employees actually feel. State Farm offers no promise at all which is precisely what it’s employees now offer in return. Tipsord is living in a bubble as are his staff down to the VPO level. The new management below that level haven’t the experience to know that the emperor isn’t clothed.
