Somebody else wrote this, but this is a perfect reflection of how bad things are at Mattel now:
I feel blessed to have been let go in the latest round. Sure, if it had happened 1-2 years ago, I would have been devastated, but at this point it's a win. Things are beyond dire, it was an extremely toxic environment and there's no guarantee those let go in the next round of layoffs will receive any severance. At least I'm getting out and have some temporary income as a buffer to look for new work. Plus I no longer have to live in fear. God bless the folks still there who are betting on a turnaround.
