Entitled, ungrateful, overpaid turds who fight amongst themselves vs trying to work with Union & Salary management to better the playing field for all. Orders are down for all the like players (i.e. Siemens...). Service shop (or other iteration) is the future. Take your severance, re-educate yourselves to prepare for your futures.

Just might be time for a change. There are several qualified people on the floor currently in the ranks as Board Members & Stewards that are deserving of these Hall positions. Some of them are true leaders and actually give a sh-t about the people they work with & represent. Doing their jobs with little to no backing from the current heads at the hall. Unimaginable what Schenectady has become - sh-- management team , that only cares to harass and intimidate the work force and questionable spineless leadership at the hall . Worst the place has seen in decades

I can get that same casting made at GE Hangzhou and pay the guy to do it ten thousand bucks a year and it will be better quality than your sh--y union product.

D rate machinists carried the plant when GE screwed up and didn’t hire enough people over the years. They also trained all the T rate machinists. D rate makes $79000 a year to be responsible cutting $2 million dollar parts. Well worth it.

A D-Rate Machinist making almost $90k before taxes is just r----ded. Most of these jackoffs couldn't even make it through high school and have their Good Enough Diploma. Low standards got them into HVCC. There isn't a math formula in the word that can make that into a good economical business decision.

Schenectady labor rates are the highest. In the EU GE does not have to pay for health care. But hey go vote for Trump again.

Next union official election is November 2020. So if you have a real slate you have time to build it correctly.

Schenectady is not closing. Poland just cost GE 58 million with bad welds in units that they have to take out of the power plants and redo them. And we now see their garbage work that’s in our shop. France and Switzerland plants cost more per hour than we do.

We are slow because of power demand and our management doesn’t fight to get work because they wouldn’t be able to handle the planning to get it done.

Walk through F G and H bay and look at the capability there. Now we just have to wait for demand to pick up.

If you get layed off you will be back within the 5 years but most likely sooner. Hang in there I know it s---s, I’ve been there.

Let’s try to stay unified as hard as it is. We are gonna need to for the contract fight next year.

To-@UqXtqNK-1xng, and @UqXtqNK-1muc and anyone else that cares to read,

Today when we had our OT meeting with salary team, they explained how New Build where gonna get screwed, and Service Guys would do New Build work instead for OT, but when the work changes, yes, new build will get screwed yet again! I blew off my lunch to argue with COE and Cell Leader and Facilitator that the way we are treated is b---s---, the way we are kept in the dark on most everything going on is b---s---, and the lack of shared info on our future work was b---s--- and the way they are running our cell is destroying it from within! For those that think and talk about me blowing the salary team, and for those that claim I snitch on coworkers, If only you had half a clue about the conversations that you think you know about! I once again stood toe to toe with a cple of guys that have half the brain they claim to have. I argued on behalf of the working person on the floor. I was once again told that because I care about my job, others jobs, and our future, they can not have a discussion with me because I'm to passionate about my job. I was accused of not being able to control my emotion, all while the COE danced and got loud with me and those standing in the area at the time. I have decided that its just not worth fighting for something that is right anymore. I know why we dance around filling grievances and then refuse to push the issue to resolve. Screw it, that's what most wanna hear! Im done, standing up for what right, and for those that cant open their damn mouths if it meant saving another's life. 98% of the 301 folks don't have a clue what I can do, what my education is, or what my honest skill set is. Frankly I don't F'ing care either. Leaders are shunned when they speak the truth and stand up for what's truly right, Im no longer a leader at GE and don't care to stand up for any worthless pieces of sh-- anywhere, anymore! Have fun with your fantasy world. I hope all the best for even the biggest scumbag on this forum. I'm truly not the kind of guy that so many experts claim that I am. When the truth is on your side, you really have NO issues lying your head down each night, I wont once again tonight! happy thoughts to all, I hope when and if the pink slips fly, there are enough min. wage jobs outside the fast food industry to give each and every one of you a job once again!!! Remember how many names you've read on this forum, that goes a long wat to proving who is full of sh-- and who isn't!!!

oh you mean balance by giving up my pension. you can't lose anything you never had. Every single T-rate that got hired said "yes i can work with the two their system." Why all of a sudden is it not ok?

A Strike is coming to 273 and the Sleeper Slate will lead the way

How do you know that the sleeper Slate is a T Rate? How do you know if a real Union Member would want to balance the playing field for all paying union members? We all pay the same and the post 2011 get less pay and less retirement than pre 2011. Have to wait and see who the Sleeper Slate is! Unify it’s now or never.

Most of the “sleeper slate” will probably be laid off before they even get a chance to run. And even if they are not at that point there will be more D rates in the building then t rates. So I’d be very surprised if the people in the hall change. And honestly your not going to win any d rate votes threatening their pensions.

I agree! Everyone knows that every single D-Rate is overpaid especially guys like JD. They have the same skillset as the T-Rates. Get over yourself and please remove your head from your a$$!

AT JD-

I agree the company hired less educated employees in the post 2011 hire waves. It was GE’s intent to do so!

Union= Equality, Fairness, $10 pay gap with no fight from our leader to close it! No pension for MOST 2011 hires!

FIRST I would like to say your over paid with your skill set. I would like to see you in the real world trying to get over paid like you do. But you should do fine because you already kiss managements brass buttocks and dry snitch on your fellow members.

SECOND The appointed union leader were trained by the old regime and that does not work any more. Or will they give a fair fight for the post 2011 hires after the concessions they gave up.

So talk all the jibberish smack you want on here. Soon the Sleeper Slate Will Rise and Your Pension Will Be Gone.

Sadly any part of a new slate wont do a damn thing to change the current situation! I don't agree with a lot regarding 301 leadership and the ways things are handled, but I have enough brains to know that for starters, there isn't a strikable offense that can be used right now to walk out the door. 2nd, when a business is looking at reducing numbers, the best thing a workforce can do is help them decide, go on strike and watch how fast the scabs come in with tractor trailers and hall all current jobs out of the factory to other sites beyond what said scabs finish building in our building! There are so many unbelievable comments made on this site and others from so many un educated individuals, its hard to believe some even work at any GE site, let alone Schenctady #273. On top of that, I struggle to find any names attached to most posts. When you decide ya wanna run for any office, start by growing some credibility along with your opinions and ideas. Post your damn name to your comment, maybe, just maybe, you could convince folks like myself that a new person with fresh ideas would be beneficial to Local 301. Ive had the balls to have conversations with our 301 leadership individuals, I express my opinions to them, there not secrets, its not hard to do. Maybe if more did just that, maybe they would see a workforce that wants to be engaged and maybe they would start acting on some of these thoughts and ideas. When you decide to post outlandish BS and crazy childish thoughts, your better off posting anonymous, hate to see someone laughed out of the shop for admitting to such BS!!!
