I think they are finally going to get rid of the factories and start focusing on making Mattel a licensing company . let others design and produce Mattel IP and risk

"Our goal is to transform Mattel into an IP-driven, high performing toy company and I'm confident we have the right team, the right assets and the right strategy in place to achieve this and enhance long-term value for our shareholders." So says Ynon.

Ynot keeps suggesting that Mattel is second only to Disney (and maybe WB) when it comes to characters and IP / brands or whatever. It's unclear what exactly he's referring too, granted Barbie is a big name that works well in a wide rage of media, but other than that? Monster High? Polly Pocket? MotU? Hot Wheels? Maybe Little People over at FP. These are decent toy brands, but to always comparing them to Disney or WB or Nick or even Hasbro for that matter, Mattel's portfolio pales in comparison. Am I missing something?

Right! But hey, we'll still be a company, right?

In that case, they probably can layoff another 6,600 people, right?
