Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Use the outplacement services!

For those who were just laid off, I’m sorry for what you are going through - it stinks but you will end up in a better place eventually. Trust me - I speak from experience. At the same time use this time to “detox” and get back to who you are and what you want. Highly recommend the outplacement services. They were invaluable for helping train and practice for marketing self, getting a new job, etc. it also is a great source of support as you’ve go through this. During the classes you meeting others going through similar experiences and realize you are in it together and boost each other up. This was the best part of being laid off.

Go to a nearby EDD office. You could get free training (WOAI) and extend you UI. They have a lot of different resources to help.

you should use every little thing in that package and stick it to mattel also remember that the financial org that holds any of your investments (401k, PIP, etc) isn’t going to stay on top of your account so if you have stock options, exercise them before they expire and get your money away from them. get yourself a good financial planner.

IT may be by location. In ea, Mattel was charged only if you show up and then by month.

Can you use the outplacement service even if you have already gotten a job. Just want to stick it to Mattel and make them spend more money.
