AG feels the pain

I’ve worked at AG for 8 years and after going from one of the greatest job I’ve had to panic attacks and asking to be reduced so I can recover for the WONDER trauma. Punitive and exploitive and manipulative. A fulltime HR at the small store to be the tardy police. The third party company they paid millions to regurgitating Merchandising 101 like it’s innovative to duplicate best sellers. Me l, emailing the tracking database I was working on. Does it make sense to have each store plan their floor? No, but it’s the best part of my job, getting to set my own plan o grams, set inventory. This is why I loved it AG, I had worked in VM using actual software to set floors and they had everyone hand drawing floor maps 😂

It was great for the artist in me. Then when I asked for a promotion I got new assignments and stopped being able to travel. I sourced supplies for all locations and saved the company $500 in shipping. Like always, the senior leaders only like things they can take credit for...I was done.

I want to be laid off, it’s the most mind f---ing place & since 2015 the HR manager has systematically taken away every perk I had from perceived power because I actually knew what I was doing, hate meetings, like self management and project completion, and busted out case law on her. Then given candy for doing something good. Then punished always. I was asked for feedback and gave it to them, then got pulled in and questioned. The distrust in a retail store is insane. Maybe don’t assume your employees are all ready to file a lawsuit...my garage Spirit has a gas can & a match...

If it's any consolation I still have my mattel ID from 5 years ago and it still works at AG stores for discounts. When they lay you off tell them you lost your badge or threw it in the garbage when you got the call and tell the HR moron to go fish it out. It comes in handy at the apple store and cellphone company discounts.

Sounds like leadership in that AG store is the same as it is in mine. Same sh--, different store. Who knows how much they paid another company to give us “ideas”. They don’t know about merchandising or what actually occurs in the store on the daily

AG worker here. I'm not in the retail part. I feel your pain. The place isn't the same as it was years ago. Constantly on edge and asked to more for less. Also that company we hired has literally added nothing of value what so ever. No innovation and were paying them how much money? This company is going down the tubes.
