Any optical updates? I’m a licensed optician at Sam’s and we are having to deal with the changes.

No major changes in WM VCs. We do have a new VP so change is inevitable.
At this point everything is speculation. We can waste our time guessing what’s going on but we won’t know until they decide we need to know.

Before I left Walmart, I was told they were all going 3 party. That way Walmart doesn’t pay wages or benefits. A lot of VC already have 3 party it’s only a matter of time when they roll that out.
I laugh when I hear or read comments about optical managers or associates not working or not working hard. Where are these people when we have openings. I don’t see any of the complainers applying.
It’s probably happening because they’re winding down the operation to allow 3rd party to bring in their processes. Looks like optical managers will finally have to work hard like the rest of us in the club or go 3rd party!
Why is this happening?
I agree. Instead of having an honest going out of business sale they are making it sound like lower prices for good. They raised the prices of frames to maximize profit margins on remaining inventory and outsourced for lenses going with the cheapest they could find. VSP will no longer communicate with us as if some agreement expired. Prices slashed overall to sell through as fast as possible. Just my theory. We have lost all credibility with the members because we are being lied to and the lies trickle down. This is what as happening at Sam’s club. Not sure about Walmart.
We have no frames, they lowered our prices 20-50% and DM constantly complain about sales. Way too many things to list with inconsistancies in directives to flat out lies from HO. My gut says closing us down or selling us off. They are cleaning out our products with no replenishments in sight.
What changes?
